
Nabaltec AG develops, produces and distributes highly specialized products based on aluminium hydroxide and aluminum oxide, as well as other raw materials on an industrial scale through its “Functional Fillers” and “Technical Ceramics” divisions.

With more than 345 employees at two locations in Schwandorf and Kelheim Bavaria and its Joint Venture Nashtec in Corpus Christi, Texas (USA), Nabaltec serves worldwide markets for flame retardants, plastic additives and ceramic raw materials.
The Functional Fillers division consists of two independent Business Units offering environmental friendly inorganic products to the polymer market.
The Business Unit “Flame Retardant Fillers” develops, produces and sells halogen-free flame retardant fillers for the plastics industry. The halogen-free flame retardant fillers of the APYRAL® product line are based upon aluminium hydroxide while magnesium hydroxide based materials are marketed under the APYMAG® trademark. The product portfolio is supplemented by the APYRAL® AOH grades, aluminium monohydrates with excellent temperature stability up to 320°C. These halogen-free, flame retardant fillers are used in a wide range of areas to make plastic products safer in an environmentally friendly manner without compromising product performance.
The Business Unit “Additives”, a part of the Functional Fillers division, has successfully launched its production plant for the new mineral co-stabiliser ACTILOX® CAHC, calcium aluminium hydroxy carbonate. ACTILOX® CAHC will mainly be used as acid scavengers heavy metal free thermal stabilizers one packs for PVC.
The Technical Ceramics division targets in its Ceramic Materials business unit applications in technical ceramics refractories, the polishing industry and abrasion-resistant lining products with a broad range of specialties based upon Aluminium Oxides (Nabalox), synthetic mullites (Symulox) and spray dried bodies (Granulox).
