4,4-Diamino diphenyl sulfone (DDS)
Sulfone
4,4-Diamino diphenyl sulfone, designed for high temperature composite applications for the Aerospace and Industrial markets
Gabriel Performance Products are a market leader in the field of Mercaptan curing agents for rapid curing epoxy adhesives and coatings.
Gabriel purchased Occidental Chemical Company’s Ashtabula plant in 2001, and acquired the expertise and facilities to manufacture mercaptan epoxy curing agents according to formulas invented and originally patented in 1966 by Occidental’s predecessor, Diamond Shamrock Chemicals.
Mercaptan epoxy curing agents have been produced here for over 40 years, and this continued capability, and the fact that they handle the major raw materials in bulk, makes them not only the world’s expert in the manufacture of mercaptan epoxy curing agents, but also the world’s most cost efficient supplier.
Mercaptans
Gabriel manufacture a full range of mercaptan curing agents for use in epoxy adhesives and coatings.
Main benefits of polymercaptans are:-
Applications include, twin fast cure syringes for DIY and industrial use, anchoring systems for the construction industry, as well as specially formulated fillers for professional use.
The accelerated cure of epoxy systems achieved by using mercaptans, allow applications where downtime / re-instatement times must be kept to an absolute minimum, e.g. interior or exterior flooring systems.
Cycloaliphatic Epoxy Resins (CER)
Gabriel cycloaliphatic epoxy resins are made by the oxidation of Cyclo Olefins with Peracetic Acid, different from other cycloaliphatic epoxy resins like Glycidyl Esters of Pthalic Acids and Hydrogenated Bis A Epoxy Resins.
Main Benefits of CER’s are:
Aliphatic Backbone offers excellent UV Stability
Saturated Cyclic Ring – Good Weatherability and Excellent Electrical Properties
High Epoxide Content enables high crosslink Density, Tg and HDT
Low Viscosity
Easy to handle and enable VOC Free or Low VOC Formulations
Combination with Polyols, result in a combination of Toughness and Heat-Distortion Temperature Properties
Offer latitude to formulate 1K or 2K Products
Applications include, fibre re-enforced composites, electrical insulators, potting compounds, acid scavenger – stabilizer, as well as coatings, inks and laminating adhesives.
Sulfones
